We view water as inherently rejuvenating and tranquil—a natural pathway to relaxation. Here on the Cornish clifftops, we strive to maintain a balanced relationship with the natural world, embracing a philosophy of living simply by slowing down, using less and appreciating more. Our surroundings inspire both our interiors and exterior design; the warm Scarlet hues found in seashells, seaweeds, rock pools and sunsets are reflected throughout our spaces, creating an immersive coastal living experience.
Our natural reed pool exemplifies this approach. Reeds and algae provide effective, chemical-free water purification, allowing our local environment and wildlife to flourish. Guests often spot newts, wild birds and other wildlife seeking a refreshing dip. While these encounters enrich the experience, we ask that visitors respectfully observe the wildlife.
Please remember that while Scarlet is your home away from home, it was the local wildlife's first. Please refrain from touching or disturbing any wildlife in and around the pool areas and up and down our beautiful coastline.
Our commitment to reciprocating nature's generosity extends beyond the pool. We've lined our roofs with native sea thrift to support local insects, source sustainable foods and utilise recyclable materials throughout our construction. Scarlet itself is built from fully recyclable materials and designed for careful deconstruction, ensuring minimal environmental impact.
Our ultimate goal is creating a natural sanctuary that serves both our guests and the rich biodiversity that calls this place home.
