Scarlet is an adults-only hotel, designed for those over 18. We welcome solo travellers, couples, friends, siblings and families. Just up the hill, our Scandinavian-inspired outpost Bedruthan welcomes people of all ages.

Scarlet’s rooms have been carefully designed to make you feel closely connected to the natural coastal environment.

Spaces are designed to maximise our Atlantic view, including our bathrooms. Instead of dividing walls, the sinks and bathtubs are open to the room.

Some rooms feature private showering areas, while others are more open.

The toilet is divided from the room by an opaque glass door. Our reservation team can always take requests or talk you through the slight differences between rooms here.

There are quirks to living out on the Cornish coastline. Here, phone reception can often come and go, though no one seems to mind too much.

Scarlet is located in the small Cornish village of Mawgan Porth. We are found on a sleepy residential road, sharing our clifftop view with a few other houses.

Here, the views are unobstructed and the loudest thing around is normally the gentle murmur of the sea. Mawgan Porth beach is public, though is often quieter than many other beaches along this coastal stretch.

Though Cornwall may seem far removed from the world’s worries, Covid-19 measures are still in effect here. Please click here to read more. Our local, rural health systems are fragile—thank you for helping us to protect them.

We’ll call you before your stay to answer any questions you may have about our Covid-19 measures at Scarlet. Also keep your eyes open for an email that includes essential guidance. In the case that circumstances suddenly change, our team will reach out to you and give an update.

Our valets are still available, but we understand you may prefer to park your own car. Our valets are still around to help, even if that’s just to provide assistance with guiding you into a space.

Given the Scarlet’s small car park, we may need to move your car while you’re here. If our valet needs to drive your vehicle, they will use seat covers, wear a mask and gloves, then sanitise the car and keys

Between guests, our housekeeping team is giving rooms a thorough clean. The windows are opened to let the fresh sea breezes blow through too. If you’d prefer not to have any housekeeping during your stay, just let us know when you arrive.

You can always ask at reception for fresh towels and other supplies when you need them.
