Art, conversation and a four-course dinner at The Scarlet
Join us on Thursday 10th December for a special evening celebrating the work of Cornish artist Hannah Davies. Discover Reflecting Nature, a collection of paintings inspired by the interplay of light, water and place, created following Hannah’s artist residencies at the hotel.
The evening begins with a welcome drink and canapés, providing an opportunity to explore the exhibition and hear from Hannah herself as she shares the inspiration and ideas behind her work.
Following the talk, take your seat in our intimate private dining room for a four-course dinner prepared by Head Chef Chris Whitmore. Inspired by Hannah’s paintings, the menu has been thoughtfully created to complement her work, drawing on the themes, colours and textures of the collection to bring art and food together in a celebration of the natural world. To further enhance your dining experience, you can also choose to add an accompanying wine flight, featuring a carefully selected collection of wines chosen to complement each course.

Inspired by the ever-changing interplay of light, water and glass, Reflecting Nature brings together a new body of paintings created during Hannah's two artist residencies at Scarlet.
Nestled in the Cornish landscape, Scarlet sits in quiet harmony with its surroundings, creating a sense of immersion in nature without disturbing its beauty. In much the same way, these paintings seek to capture the delicate relationship between our lives and the natural world — the way light enters a space, the landscape is reflected in glass, fleeting beauty of sunlight dancing across the sparkling sea.
Celebrating the poetry of light, the beauty of reflection and the art of noticing, Reflecting Nature invites us to pause, look closer and rediscover the extraordinary in the everyday.
