In Ayurveda there are three main mind and body types known as doshas: Vata, Pitta and Kapha, derived from the five elements of air, space, fire, earth, water. Your individual dosha type gives insight into your physical, mental, emotional and behavioural characteristics.
This moisturising, exfoliating scrub is so easy to make at home that we wanted to share it with you. The basic recipe is below but you can add your own seasonal twist with different essential oils and fresh flowers or herbs. In early summer, we love to create the sugar scrub with fresh lavender buds and the salt scrub with peppermint oil and fresh peppermint from our garden.

We all know the expression ‘as natural as breathing’. And sure, we tend to inhale and exhale without much – if any – thought. But in reality most of us don’t breathe ‘naturally’ at all. Most of us have adopted some pretty bad breathing habits as we’ve grown up, including poor posture, shallow breathing and over-tensed muscles.
A little foot massage goes a long way when it comes to your health and wellbeing. Massaging your whole foot – your heel, instep, arch, toes etc – can spread the relaxing effects to your entire body. So, a gentle and fluid massage of the soles of your feet, arches and toes could help to soothe your entire nervous system.
