Autumnal twist on the Scarlet Afternoon Tea

Afternoon Tea at Scarlet Hotel

As the last of the summer sun sets over the ocean, and shadows stretch out across Mawgan Porth bay. Our uniquely chic glass-fronted restaurant and terrace is as inspiring as it is welcoming, providing the perfect backdrop for you to take your time over a delicious afternoon tea, and not just any tea, one that’s made especially for you.

From a daintily delicate crust-free sandwich to a zingy lemon curd and rhubarb tartlet, and onto a melt-in-the-mouth dark chocolate and peanut butter Paris breast, all our cakes are freshly made every day by our pastry chefs. The hardest decision you’ll face is what order to eat them in!

To round it off there are warm freshly baked scones with Cornish clotted cream and strawberry jam (just remember, it’s jam on first!). We’d also like to give the Battenberg a special mention. A 1970s classic marzipan treat making a glorious comeback.

To accompany all this, we have personally curated a collection of locally made teas produced on the nearby Tregothnan Estate, ranging from a metabolism boosting Green Tea to a chilled-out Chamomile made from freshly picked chamomile flowers. Or how about a cheeky afternoon treat? A glass of our Scarlet champagne, perhaps..?

The only thing we ask is that you book 24 hours in advance to give us enough time to prepare everything and, as the nights draw in, do watch out for other seasonal twists too.
