Scarlet Weddings

The Scarlet’s licensed spaces offer a unique and informal atmosphere in which to tie the knot. There are three options, largely guided by the number of guests you’d like to attend. Unfortunately we’re unable to offer weddings in school holidays, from June to September or during January when the hotel is closed.

Intimate for 2-6 people

An Intimate wedding is a low key affair, either just the two of you (we can supply the witnesses) or you and up to four guests. The ceremony is held in our Reception Lounge followed by lunch or dinner in our spectacular sea-view restaurant.

Estimated cost for six: £865. What’s included?
Our ceremony fee is £250 and includes room hire and a glass of champagne and canapés for the party. The estimate is based on one Just Right Room for two nights in (March 2016 rates), the ceremony fee and six lunches from our fixed price menu, accompanied by house wine.

Simple for 7-20 people

A small and informal affair for you and your nearest. The ceremony is held in our Retreat Lounge at the top of the hotel followed by lunch or dinner in our private dining room.

Estimated cost for 20: £2150. What’s included?
Our ceremony fee is £550 and includes room hire and a glass of champagne and canapés for the party. The ceremony is followed by either lunch or dinner in our private dining room from a bespoke set menu which we will create with you. We regret that no additional guests are allowed to join the wedding party during the day or the evening and it must be an adult-only event. You can book a maximum of four extra rooms for a minimum of a two nights with a Simple wedding.

The estimate is based on one Just Right room for two nights (March 2016 rates), the ceremony fee and 20 people eating from a bespoke set menu at £50 per person, accompanied by house wine.

Intimate and Simple weddings can be booked Monday to Thursday, subject to availability. Ceremonies can be held at 12.30pm or 16.30pm. Wedding bookings must include a two night stay at the hotel on the night before and the night of the wedding.

Exclusive Use for up to 78 people

Make the Scarlet yours for two nights. An informal ceremony will be held in the Retreat Lounge (which does mean most of your guests will be required to stand). Your meal will be served in our stunning sea-view restaurant.

Exclusive use accommodates you and up to 72 guests in our 37 hotel rooms for two nights. The ceremony takes place on the middle day. We can seat an additional four guests at mealtimes, but they would need to stay elsewhere. Exclusive use begins at 2pm on your arrival day and ends at 11am on the day of departure. Whilst the Scarlet is designed as a ‘grown ups only’ retreat hotel, children are welcomed at an exclusive use wedding.

Estimated cost for 74: £34,760

The estimate is based on 74 guests and includes dinner, breakfast and the venue fee (March 2016 rates). All drinks and additional food will be extra.

Exclusive use events can be booked Sunday to Monday or Wednesday to Thursday in February, March, April, May, November or December excluding school and bank holiday dates and subject to availability.

Questions and booking process

If you think we might suit you, please call us on 01637 861 800 to check the availability of any dates you have in mind. Once you have a couple of options, you will need to confirm the availability of the registrar by emailing ceremonies@registration.cornwall.gov.uk. We can then arrange a meeting to discuss the finer details.

Once we have confirmed your chosen date is available you can make a provisional booking. This will be held for a maximum of 14 days at the discretion of the management. This does not mean that space is guaranteed and the management reserve the right to release bookings without notification on any provisional booking that has not yet been confirmed.

To confirm a booking we require written confirmation, a 30% deposit and a signed copy of our terms and conditions. The Scarlet will only deem a booking confirmed when a hotel representative has acknowledged receipt of your confirmation letter, deposit and signed terms and conditions.
