Please let us know at the time of booking where special arrangements are required such as dietary, room location etc. and we will do our best to make sure we get everything right for you. Whilst every effort will be made to meet these requests, they are not guaranteed and may be chargeable.

 Description

The Scarlet hotel makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of property descriptions however they are for guidance only. If there are points of particular importance please contact our friendly Reservations team on 01637 861800 to clarify information.

 If something goes wrong

Please let us know as soon as you can and during occupancy, so we can try our hardest to put it right.

 Facilities, Services & Maintenance

We do our best to keep everything at the Scarlet shipshape but occasionally something might go awry. We accept this as part of life and don’t accept liability if a facility is out of action or a guest chooses to take part in an activity at their own risk.  If a facility should have to close, the Scarlet will reopen it as soon as possible.

As the hotel is open all year round, you may find there is necessary maintenance, development or refurbishment work taking place during your visit. We will use reasonable endeavours to keep noise and inconvenience to a minimum. If such work is happening during your stay this will not constitute a reason for cancellation and standard cancellation terms will apply.

 Smoking

In accordance with the no-smoking legislation, the Scarlet Hotel is a smoke free premises and smoking is not permitted, throughout the hotel with the exception of the designated smoking area. Smoking in a room will incur an additional deep clean charge of £125.00 to render the room smoke free again.

Dog Policy

We allow dogs in five specific bedrooms, which are subject to availability. Declaration your dog & breed of dog is required at the time of booking, should this not be declared it is possible we may refuse your booking at a later stage or on arrival.

Dogs are charged £15 per night, per dog and although we provide eating & drinking bowls, a blanket and waste bags, dog food is not provided.

Dogs must be kept on a lead in the hotel including the hotel grounds: note some areas of the hotel are dog free.

You are fully liable for any loss or damage caused to anyone or any property by your pet and the costs of any loss or damage including exceptional cleaning. We strongly recommend you take out appropriate insurance to cover such eventualities.

We reserve the right to ask you and your pet to leave if our rules are not followed or your pet’s presence is the cause of distress or nuisance to another guest/s.

 Cancellations

All cancellations must be confirmed in writing.

If cancelling within 14 days of arrival the full cost will be liable unless we are able to re-let the room.

We do recommend you take out suitable travel insurance at the time of booking in case of the eventuality of cancellation.

Without notification of cancellation, the full amount will be charged.

If cancelling a booking within 24 hours of making the reservation and which is outside 28 days of arrival, it is at the company’s discretion that a refund, less a £50 admin fee, may be offered as a gesture of good will.

 Our Liability to You

Our primary aim is to help you have a great stay but, in case you don’t, our lawyer friends insist we limit our liability to what you have paid us. For the sake of legal correctness, we let them write this bit:

The Hotel shall not, except in respect of death or personal injury caused by the Hotel’s negligence or in circumstances of fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation (or as otherwise provided for in these terms), be liable whether in tort, contract, misrepresentation or otherwise for any indirect, special or consequential loss, damage, costs, expenses or other claims (whether caused by the Hotel, its employees or agents or otherwise) which arise out of or in connection with the provision of the facilities and services under these terms. The Hotel’s total liability in contract, tort, misrepresentation or otherwise arising in connection with the performance or contemplated performance of the services shall be limited to the price paid for those services.  All warranties, conditions and other terms implied by statute or common law are, to the fullest extent permitted by law, excluded from these terms.

Whilst on the subject of things that none of us want to happen, the Hotel will not be liable for any failure or delay in providing its wonderful facilities or services as a result of events or matters outside its control.  Our lawyers again insist we tell you that this includes (but is not limited to) fire; explosion; storm; flood; Act of God, action by Government or a Governmental agency; shortage of goods or materials; strike or lock-out; we wonder if they might have been a bit more inventive.

In addition you need to know that “The Scarlet” is the trading name of Scarlet Hotel Limited (“the Hotel”).
