a very Scarlet Christmas 2011
This year we hosted a 4-night Christmas break. Without overdosing on gaudy decorations, too much ho-ho-ho-ing and eggnog…instead we offered simple, warm festivities.
Staggering sea views; fabulous Christmas fare; Ayurvedic Spa and wonderful cliff-top hot tubs for the most memorable glass of Christmas champagne!
Guests arrived on Dec 23rd with tea and minced pies, woke up on Christmas morning to the sound of the ocean. Before a lavish lunch, they wrapped up tight and took to the beach for brisk walks and a splash in the sea before retiring to a lazy afternoon by the log-fire unless some entertainment appealed….from singing, live music, beginners dance lessons and wine-tasting....
New Years Eve Scarlet Style
For New Years 2011 we celebrated Scarlet style with a 3-night break. Guests Dug out their glad rags and tucked into delicious gourmet food, made some ‘oohs’ and aahs’ over our fantastic fireworks and danced the night away.
We encouraged guests to arrive in time for afternoon tea and a beginners' dance lesson. A gourmet dinner with perfectly matched wines was served on New Year's Eve.
A buzzing atmosphere with live entertainment gave the chance to take to the floor and New Year was toasted with champagne and fireworks at midnight on the retreat terrace.
On New Year's Day guests enjoyed a lie-in followed by a late brunch. For those that were brave enough, a morning wet suit swim was organised to awaken the senses. For something a bit more relaxing, some took part in our New Year therapy session workshop.
We look forward to planning another great celebration for 2012.
